Memphis Get Verbal From Makari Bodiford
Memphis Football received its second commitment of 2024 by picking up a verbal from running back Makaro Bodiford. The 6’7 207 pound Marietta, GA star comes to Memphis after offers from Cincinnati, Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, South Florida, and Florida Atlantic.
The upcoming senior took his official visit to bluff city over the weekend. Per sources, this visit went great, and Bodiford felt at home on campus. He will be on campus with a familiar face as his former teammate, Sutton Smith, is on the roster and excelled in his first season with the Tigers.
The junior has modeled his rushing attack after Marshawn Lynch and wants to be a force when rushing. In 2022, Bodiford has 253 carries for 1,582 yards and 20 touchdowns. He proved he was more than a one-way threat by adding 14 receptions for 103 yards and 2 touchdowns last season.
Bodiford is being recruited by Sean Dawkins and a strong relationship was built from the moment the Tigers offered him. This relationship with Dawkins and head coach Ryan Silverfield was a major factor in his decision to choose the Tigers. Much like Smith, Bodiford will have the same ability and make an immediate impact on the rushing attack from Memphis.
