In shocking news, now former Memphis Softball head coach, Stephanie Prothro, is headed to Florida to become the Gator’s new pitching coach per sources.
Prothro, who has been at Memphis since 2023, was the 3rd ever coach in program history. She will finish her tenure as a Tiger with a 14-87 record and a .139 winning percentage.
As mentioned, Prothro will be back coaching pitching as she is familiar with this role. Prothro served in the same position for Alabama from 2012-2022 prior to taking the position with Memphis. This move will also move Prothro back to the SEC and with a powerhouse program in the Gators.
As Memphis now begins its search for the 4th coach in the program we will keep you updated as news breaks. This will be a position that will need to be filled quicky as the portal and recruiting season is here.
