Henigan Drives American Team To Senior Bowl Win
For Memphis Football fans, the ending of the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl was nothing new. The nation would see Seth Henigan, former Tigers quarterback, orchestrate a game-winning, 12-play and 85-yard drive for the American Team in Mobile for a 22-19 win. In the win over the National Team, Henigan connected a bullet to Jack Bech, former TCU wide receiver to seal the win. Bech was named the Senior Bowl MVP while Henigan was announced as the American Team MVP.
After waiting essentially three quarters, the only four-year starter for one team in the nation in 2024 took the field. In the end, Henigan finished the game 12-14 passing for 132 yards and a touchdown. Within the game week of practices and Saturday, there were throws from Henigan that impressed those in attendance. This tracks as the winningest quarterback in Memphis history who also led Memphis to an 11-2 record and Frisco Bowl Championship, throws the game-winner.
We mentioned that the drive to end the game was “Muscle Memory” for Seth as we witnessed this for his entire tenure for Memphis. Even with the Denton, Texas native being the final quarterback to appear for his team he made the most of the moment. In a postgame interview with NFL Network, Henigan stated “I’ve had a bunch of two-minute drives in my career and to have one in the Reese’s Senior Bowl is just a blessing.” when speaking on his performance in the game. Going further, Seth said “I think just putting an emphasis on my clutch gene.” in what he hopes is a drive NFL General Managers in attendance will remember.
We will have more on where we think Henigan will fit at the next level coming up. After an impressive week in Mobile, we forecast an interesting Draft Day for Henigan.
