Memphis received its third verbal commitment of the 2024 class from Arrington Maiden, a three-star quarterback from College Station, Texas. Maiden took his official visit to the campus this weekend before his verbal commitment. He was one of many players on campus this weekend.
Maiden was recruited by Offensive Coordinator, Tim Cramsey, as well as, head coach, Ryan Silverfield. During this process, these coaches made Maiden feel welcome and made him a priority for the 2024 class. This was one of the factors in his committing to the Tigers.
Maiden would choose Memphis over Jackson State, Austin Peay, Abilene Christian, and Boston College to name a few. He will look to bring a different style to Memphis as he tailors his game similarly to Jalen Hurts.
This was a productive method as last season Maiden threw completed 195/341 passes for 2,279 yards with 22 touchdowns. The 6’3 195 pounders will look to improve on the numbers in 2023 as he prepares to come to Memphis. By 2024, the Memphis fanbase will be looking to see who could be the next great quarterback.
